Ellen is a social and resettlement expert whose expertise includes the planning, implementation and review of land access, resettlement, livelihood restoration, stakeholder engagement and social performance strategies on challenging projects in the natural resources, infrastructure and agricultural sectors. She has a thorough understanding and experience of the practical requirements of applicable international standards, including those of the IFC, World Bank, EIB, EBRD and Equator Principles.
She has successfully project managed the resettlement and undertaken social due diligence and risk assessments on numerous projects, including in Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, Georgia, Ghana, Guinea, Mozambique, Uganda and Zambia.
Ellen has an academic background in international law, migration and development and a keen understanding of community issues and human rights, with a particular interest in gender. She is also a trainer on land acquisition, resettlement and livelihoods.
